Reverend Rick’s Supreme Margarita

 

Be careful, these margaritas are real easy drinkin’ and very potent.

mix together in a pitcher:

 

1 cup tequila

¾ cup triple sec

¼ cup Grand Manier or equivalent (Grand Gala)

1 cup water

½ cup fresh squeezed lime juice (about 2 limes)

½ can frozen lime aid (near the frozen OJ at the store)

 

fill four 16 oz. glasses to top with ice cubes

 

pour mixture over the ice

 

drizzle in a dash of Chambord over the top

1 cup tequila

1 cup triple sec

½ cup fresh squeezed lime juice (about 2 limes)

½ cup Jose Cuervo tequila mix

 

fill three 16 oz. glasses to top with ice cubes

 

pour mixture over the ice

The Key West Original Margarita

This is the original Margarita from Key West, where I believe, the Margarita was first discovered J

1 shot tequila

½ shot Cointreau

juice from ½ lime

This is not a sweet margarita, but give it a chance, it grows on you!

 

Other ideas

·                 Don’t waste your money buying big dollar Tequilas when mixing Margaritas.  The cheap stuff will work just fine!  (I use Tortilla Silver or Tortilla Gold a lot of times- $10 a half gallon)  Now if you are doin’ tequila shots… that’s another story!

·                  Try just a drizzle of Malibu Rum on top of these recipes

·                 You can take the whole thing and dump it in a blender (including the ice) if you MUST have frozen Margaritas

·                 When salting the rim of the glass- take a lime skin (that has been squeezed) and wet the outside only of the rim of the glass, then dunk the glass in the salt.  If you get salt the inside the rim of the glass, brush it out with your finger before pouring to make sure none of the salt gets into the drink

·                  Under no circumstances should you try to substitute anything for the “fresh squeezed” lime juice specified in the recipes, there just is no substitute.
